Absolutely not! Level 1: Foundations of "Yes, And" is designed specifically for absolute beginners. We create a warm, zero-pressure space focused on having fun, laughing, being silly, and letting go of ambition and worry. Most of our students are people looking to try something new, meet friends, or get more comfortable in their own skin.
Shortform improv consists of quick, game-based scenes with specific rules (think "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"). Longform improv—which we specialize in—starts with a single audience suggestion (like a word or story) and builds a rich, interconnected world of scenes, characters, and storylines. It feels more like a spontaneous play made up in the moment.

We host regular drop-in jams! They are the perfect way to get on your feet or watch others play. You can show up, warm up with some group games, and play scenes in a supportive environment. No booking commitment required—though you can reserve your spot online!
Yes, we are a Cape Town-based non-profit organisation. Every cent we bring in from show tickets and classes goes directly back into running the theatre, paying our local coaches fairly, and growing a vibrant, inclusive improv community in Cape Town.
